Live Poker at Mohawk - What You’re Actually Getting
Our poker room at Elements Casino Mohawk is open from Thursday through Sunday, running from noon until 4:00 AM. Those are the only days we spread live poker right now - no Monday games, no quiet Tuesday night sessions. If you are driving in from Hamilton, Milton, or anywhere along the Kitchener-Waterloo stretch, a quick call before you head out is simply safer. Schedules move around.
You will find the room inside the Woodbine Mohawk Park complex at 9430 Guelph Line in Milton, Ontario. We operate under the Great Canadian Entertainment brand within the OLG framework, so this is a fully regulated casino, not some temporary or grey-area card room. Oversight comes through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario as part of the standard provincial casino structure.
The main game on the felt is No-Limit Hold’em. From early player feedback and community posts during our launch, two cash stakes show up again and again: 1/3 NLH with a $300 maximum buy-in, plus 2/3 NLH with a $500 cap. Rake has been reported as capped at $15 per hand. However, buy-in caps, blind structures, and rake rules are exactly the type of details that can be adjusted over time with little noise, so we always suggest checking with the floor before you sit in a game. Please, do not just assume it is unchanged.
The poker area is reasonably large for a regional venue. When we opened, players were talking about roughly 24 tables in the room. Our current official materials confirm that live poker is still offered on property, but they do not lock in an exact number of active tables, simply because capacity moves with demand. If you want to know what is actually running on a particular Thursday or Saturday, calling ahead is still the most accurate play.

Planning Your Visit
Getting to us is fairly straightforward from most of the western GTA. We share the property with the live harness racing track, so once you are on Guelph Line, just follow the signage for Woodbine Mohawk Park and you will end up in the right spot.
Before you walk through the doors, a few practical things are worth lining up:
- Call 905-854-4053 or 1-800-732-2230 to verify that the poker room is operating that day; game lists and hours can flex a bit based on demand and staffing.
- Bring valid government-issued photo ID. The legal minimum age to enter and play is 19, and our security team actually checks it at the entrance.
- When you get inside, look for the poker staff on the floor and add your name to the list for the blind level you want to play.
- Ask the floor or dealer about current buy-in minimums and maximums, rake structure, and any promos running at the tables before you post your first blind, since these items can shift.
- Chips are usually handled either directly at the table through a chip runner or at the main cage, depending on the current operating procedure that day.
- At the end of your session, cash out your remaining chips at the casino cage before you leave the building.
You do not need to book seats in advance for cash games. Whether you get a chair right away or wait a little depends on how many tables we have open and how busy that particular night runs.
One more small piece of strategy from our side: if you are coming from more than about a half-hour away for any poker room, it is worth having a backup plan ready in case your usual game or stake is not going that night. It is not unique to us, it is just smart poker travel behaviour.
